Republicans Drop The Hammer On $2B Funding For Illegals - An Investigation Is Coming

The pandemic has affected millions around the country, and many are still struggling to get back on their feet. This includes everyone from business owners to everyday workers.

Iowa Governor Says She Declined Request to House Unaccompanied Minors

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said her state can’t receive unaccompanied minorsamid the unfolding border crisis, which she says was caused by President Joe Biden, adding that he has a duty to correct the situation.

Reynolds, a Republican, told WHO radio earlier this week that she declined a request from the Biden administration to come up with foster care for children who illegally cross the border. . . Read more about Iowa Governor Says She Declined Request to House Unaccompanied Minors

More migrants are coming to the United States, and the solution is more U.S. foreign aid to Central America, says Mexico’s foreign minister.

“If you look at the region from different points of view, but especially demographics and economics, it is clear the flows are going to be constant and growing in coming years,” said foreign secretary Marcelo Ebrard, according to an Associated Press April 8 report.

“The United States will have to allocate $2 billion per year for development in these countries, in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador,” said Ebrard, who is involved in the slow-motion negotiations with the White House about the migration surge into the United States.

The $2 billion per year is roughly twice as much money as the $1 billion per year that President Joe Biden has suggested the U.S. should spend in Central America. . .

NY To Give Illegal Immigrants COVID Checks Of Up To $15,600, Republicans Hit Back: ‘In New York, It Pays To Break The Law’

New York will offer “one-time payments of up to $15,600 to undocumented immigrants who lost work during the pandemic,” according to reports.

With a price tag of $2.1 billion, “The fund, which could provide payments to hundreds of thousands of people excluded from other pandemic relief, ignited a battle among state lawmakers before it was approved this week,” according to The New York Times. . . COVID Migrants Get a Pass and Head Into U.S

The U.S.-Mexico border remains officially closed to non-essential traffic. But that’s not stopping asylum seekers from pushing on and, in some cases, bringing COVID-19 with them.

In the face of federal and state efforts to contain COVID, migrants crossing into Texas are testing positive for the virus, and continuing their travels into the U.S. While the Biden administration says it is handling the surging numbers, a Democrat congressman sees deteriorating conditions in his border district.

“[The administration is] only listening to the immigration activists, and they’re not listening to the folks on the border,” Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Laredo, complained Wednesday. The same day, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) tweeted, “The Biden administration is recklessly releasing hundreds of illegal immigrants who have COVID into Texas communities.”. . Abbott Hits Biden with the Bill After Texan Forces Were Left to Clean up After President's Costly Border Crisis

Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday called for the federal government to pay the bill for costs incurred to protect the state from crimes occurring as a result of the crisis at the southern border.

Abbott has criticized the administration of President Joe Biden for the surge in illegal immigration that has swamped facilities designed to hold migrants and resulted in many illegal immigrants who are detained being turned loose in Texas communities.

Noting the role of drug cartels and human smugglers in the border crisis, Abbott last month announced the creation of Operation Lone Star to have Texas law enforcement agencies, led by the Texas Department of Public Safety, focus on human trafficking and other crimes taking place during the surge. . .

Biden’s Border Crisis 101: How this Administration’s Policies Created a Self-Inflicted Crisis

Since Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election, migrants have been flooding to the border in hopes of taking advantage of his immigration policy promises. The President has taken a sharp turn away from the approach of his predecessor. Instead of instituting policies that deter illegal immigration, this administration is posting a giant welcome sign. And, unfortunately for the American public, it’s working.

We are only one-third of the way through FY2021, yet the southern border is already experiencing record-breaking apprehension totals.[1] Typically, the bulk of border apprehensions occur during the warmer months of May through June. But so far this year, the southern border is seeing apprehension figures that are far higher than is typically seen during the “busy season.”[2] At this rate, the United States is on track to make the immigration crisis of FY2019 look relatively mild. . .

COMMENTARY Poll: Americans Displeased by Biden's Handling of Immigration Crisis

Apparently, President Joe Biden’s handling of the border crisis isn’t quite winning him support among the American people.

In poll after poll, Biden is taking a beating over his handling of illegal immigration. In the first major crisis of his administration, Joe Biden isn’t just losing — he’s losing big.

According to The Hill, in a Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey, 48 percent of Americans approve of how Biden is doing at the southern border. That’s down from the 56 percent that approved of his performance in February. The poll of 1,945 registered voters was conducted from March 24 to March 25 via an online sample. . . Public Support for Biden Immigration Policies Clnti ues to Slip as Immigration Crisis Intensifies

According to a recent poll commissioned by the NPR Media Network, American swing voters oppose Joe Biden’s open border immigration policy by a margin of 2:1, according to the same poll Latino Americans are just as unlikely to support Biden’s mass immigration agenda as they are to support it.

The NRP commissioned poll asked 1,309 registered voters if they “approve or disapprove of how President Biden is handling immigration.” Overall, just 33% of voters approve of Biden’s border policies, while 54% disapprove, says the Marist poll, conducted March 22 to 25. . . Did the Border Crisis Finally Force the Corporate Media to Criticize Joe Biden?

The crisis at the border continues unabated, and the Biden administration has no plan to solve it. The Biden administration has just signed an $86 million contract with hotels near the border to house migrant families. Fifteen thousand unaccompanied minors have arrived and the administration does not have the facilities to house them. Perhaps the shocking part of the current moment is that it is not the typical reporters, such as Brandon Darby of Breitbart and other conservative outlets, standing alone in reporting the situation accurately. The corporate media is also calling it a crisis.

This story marks the first time that the corporate media has taken a critical tone against a Democrat policy since Barack Obama got sworn into the White House. Biden administration officials are not quite sure how to handle it, so they are trying to blame the crisis on the previous administration. That is a stretch, considering that one of Biden’s first executive actions involved dismantling the border policies put in place by the prior administration. Most major outlets are not buying this particular narrative. . . Read more about Did the Border Crisis Finally Force the Corporate Media to Criticize Joe Biden?
