Lawsuit: 2,400 Illegal Alien Criminals Released under San Francisco Sheriff’s Sanctuary Policy

If you want to know the danger sanctuary policies produce, look no farther than San Francisco, where criminals are permitted to roam free.

We have sued to overturn the San Francisco Sheriff’s sanctuary policy, and our suit revealed that more than 2,400 criminal illegal aliens were released under the department’s policy on communications with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) about criminal illegal aliens in the Sheriff’s custody. (Cynthia Cerletti v. Vicki Hennessy, Sheriff (No. CGC-16-556164)). A hearing in the court challenge occurred on April 5.

We note in a recent court filing that the Sheriff’s office’s policy “is so effective in regulating immigration and obstructing Congress’ purposes under federal immigration law that, in over 2,401 known instances, it has never resulted in ICE taking into custody a single alien, not even aliens with significant criminal backgrounds wanted for removal.”. . . More migrants are coming to the United States, and the solution is more U.S. foreign aid to Central America, says Mexico’s foreign minister.

“If you look at the region from different points of view, but especially demographics and economics, it is clear the flows are going to be constant and growing in coming years,” said foreign secretary Marcelo Ebrard, according to an Associated Press April 8 report.

“The United States will have to allocate $2 billion per year for development in these countries, in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador,” said Ebrard, who is involved in the slow-motion negotiations with the White House about the migration surge into the United States.

The $2 billion per year is roughly twice as much money as the $1 billion per year that President Joe Biden has suggested the U.S. should spend in Central America. . .

Biden Admin Responds to Reports Saying DHS May Restart Border Wall Construction

The White House responded to a report this week claiming that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) would restart construction of the U.S.–Mexico border wall to shore up gaps in the current barrier, after President Joe Biden issued an executive order months ago to pause construction.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas reportedly said that there’s “room to make decisions” on finishing “gaps in the wall,” according to the Washington Times, which cited notes of a conversation between Mayorkas and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials. The Epoch Times hasn’t been able to independently confirm the authenticity of the remarks and has contacted DHS for comment on the story. . . COMMENTARY : Humiliating Leak Shows Biden's DHS Chief Admit Trump Was Right, Suggest Restarting Border Wall: Report

In a humiliating rebuke to President Joe Biden, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas reportedly told employees he’s considering restarting wall construction as the Democrats’ border apocalypse metastasizes out of control.

In so doing, Mayorkas — a Biden appointee — tacitly admitted that former President Donald Trump was right when he said that walls work and Biden was wrong when he abruptly halted construction. . . Biden’s Border Crisis 101: How this Administration’s Policies Created a Self-Inflicted Crisis

Since Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election, migrants have been flooding to the border in hopes of taking advantage of his immigration policy promises. The President has taken a sharp turn away from the approach of his predecessor. Instead of instituting policies that deter illegal immigration, this administration is posting a giant welcome sign. And, unfortunately for the American public, it’s working.

We are only one-third of the way through FY2021, yet the southern border is already experiencing record-breaking apprehension totals.[1] Typically, the bulk of border apprehensions occur during the warmer months of May through June. But so far this year, the southern border is seeing apprehension figures that are far higher than is typically seen during the “busy season.”[2] At this rate, the United States is on track to make the immigration crisis of FY2019 look relatively mild. . .

The Border Crisis May Be Coming to Your Kids’ School

Commentary

The Biden administration is scrambling to shelter thousands of unaccompanied minors crossing the southern border from Central America. The media are declaring the crush at the border a “crisis.”

Truth is, this crisis could be heading to your school district. If your kids are in public school or you pay school taxes, you need to know the facts.

The media show photos of young migrant children. Don’t fall for that. Three-quarters of these unaccompanied minors are young men ages 15 to 17. Think tattoos, not teddy bears. .

Arizona and Montana Take Legal Action Against Biden Admin ICE Arrest Regulations

Arizona and Montana are taking legal action (pdf) to block new Biden administration immigration regulations, saying that these would cause negative consequences for the states.

The new rules would limit the capability of ICE to detain some illegal immigrants unless they pose a threat to national security, entered through the border after Nov. 1, or committed aggravated felonies.

The Biden administration says that the rules don’t impair arresting or deporting people, but the officers in the field would need to request permission from their superiors to arrest people outside of the aforementioned cases.

“If asked about the poorest policy choice I’ve ever seen in government, this would be a strong contender,” Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said in a statement. “Blindly releasing thousands of people, including convicted criminals and those who may be spreading COVID-19 into our state, is both unconscionable and a violation of federal law. This must be stopped now to avoid a dangerous humanitarian crisis for the immigrants and the people of Arizona.”. . DH Seeks Volunteers to Help With "Overwhelming Surge" at Border

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking volunteers from among its agencies to assist in dealing with an “overwhelming” migrant surge at the U.S.-Mexico border, as the Biden administration continues to deny that there’s a crisis.

“Today, I activated the Volunteer Force to support Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as they face a surge in migration along the Southwest Border,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in an email to employees on March 8, obtained by several news outlets.

“You have likely seen the news about the overwhelming numbers of migrants seeking access to this country along the Southwest Border,” Mayorkas said. . .

FAIR: Xavier Becerra is the Wrong Man to Head HHS as a Flood of Migrants Strains Department Resources

(March 4, 2021, Washington, D.C.) — The following statement was issued by Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), in opposition to the nomination of Xavier Becerra to lead the Department of Health and Human Services:

“FAIR’s strong concerns about the fitness of Xavier Becerra to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) are clearly reflected in the Senate Finance Committee’s failure to support his nomination.

“HHS is faced with unprecedented strains on its resources as the lead federal agency tasked with dealing with the COVID crisis. The Biden administration’s reckless immigration policies have triggered another border crisis and a growing surge of people coming across our borders and multiplying demands on public health resources. Moreover, because HHS is also responsible for the care and housing of unaccompanied children entering the country illegally, the burden on agency personnel and resources will be even greater. . . Biden's Open Border Plan is "Madness," According to Immigration Patriot Stephen Miller

Stephen Miller is a top immigration authority who got Washington experience working for Senator Jeff Sessions and later for President Trump in the White House. Lately he has been appearing on TV discussing the threat posed by the new administration’s border policy.

President Biden’s proposed immigration legislation is beyond extreme in its intent — Miller reports that if passed, it would crush America’s fundamental powers as a nation, namely to control who enters the country. Biden’s borders will melt into nothing as idealized by globalists, transforming citizens into powerless serfs.

Former Trump economist Peter Navarro predicts that more than a million illegal aliens will cross the border in 2021. Obama DHS official Julliette Kayyam has the same numerical estimate. . . Read more about Biden's Open Border Plan is "Madness," According to Immigration Patriot Stephen Miller
