Biden Shrinks, Gives in to Radical Left on Refugee Policy

If there was any doubt remaining that President Joe Biden would be pushed to the far left by his party’s radicals, that doubt has been erased.

Biden announced on Friday that he would keep in place this year’s cap on the number of refugees allowed into the country, which was put in place by former President Donald Trump before he left office, and he was scorched by leftist lawmakers.

What did Biden do? He buckled to the pressure after having decided to do one sensible thing since taking office in January. . . Read more about Biden Shrinks, Gives in to Radical Left on Refugee Policy

Biden, Not Trump, Driving Border Crisis

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas summed up our border crisis in a statement he released March 16: "We are on pace to encounter more individuals on the southwest border than we have in the last 20 years."

According to The Wall Street Journal, Border Patrol agents made about 75,000 arrests of migrants crossing illegally in January.

And, the Journal reports, "the government is seeing more children arriving each day than ever before, with an average of 523 children taken into custody by Border Patrol agents each day over the last three weeks" . . . Read more about Biden, Not Trump, Driving Border Crisis

Arizona Sheriff: Thanks to Biden, Mexican Smugglers Now Have Their Own High-Speed Roads in America

COMMENTARY

Roads across the southwestern United States are becoming drug-trafficking highways, according to an Arizona sheriff.

After President Joe Biden’s executive order in January halting construction of the southern border wall, workers “just built roads for the cartels,” Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels told The Washington Times.

Throughout the Trump administration, alongside the border wall itself, high-speed roads were built for use by the Border Patrol to better police America’s southern border. . .

Vice President Kamala Harris is supposed to be fixing the humanitarian crisis at the southern border of the U.S. — but she’s too busy with her cake to lift a finger to help the situation.

COVID Migrants Get a Pass and Head Into U.S

The U.S.-Mexico border remains officially closed to non-essential traffic. But that’s not stopping asylum seekers from pushing on and, in some cases, bringing COVID-19 with them.

In the face of federal and state efforts to contain COVID, migrants crossing into Texas are testing positive for the virus, and continuing their travels into the U.S. While the Biden administration says it is handling the surging numbers, a Democrat congressman sees deteriorating conditions in his border district.

“[The administration is] only listening to the immigration activists, and they’re not listening to the folks on the border,” Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Laredo, complained Wednesday. The same day, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) tweeted, “The Biden administration is recklessly releasing hundreds of illegal immigrants who have COVID into Texas communities.”. . Biden Admin Responds to Reports Saying DHS May Restart Border Wall Construction

The White House responded to a report this week claiming that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) would restart construction of the U.S.–Mexico border wall to shore up gaps in the current barrier, after President Joe Biden issued an executive order months ago to pause construction.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas reportedly said that there’s “room to make decisions” on finishing “gaps in the wall,” according to the Washington Times, which cited notes of a conversation between Mayorkas and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials. The Epoch Times hasn’t been able to independently confirm the authenticity of the remarks and has contacted DHS for comment on the story. . . In a humiliating rebuke to President Joe Biden, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas reportedly told employees he’s considering restarting wall construction as the Democrats’ border apocalypse metastasizes out of control.

In so doing, Mayorkas — a Biden appointee — tacitly admitted that former President Donald Trump was right when he said that walls work and Biden was wrong when he abruptly halted construction. . . Abbott Hits Biden with the Bill After Texan Forces Were Left to Clean up After President's Costly Border Crisis

Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday called for the federal government to pay the bill for costs incurred to protect the state from crimes occurring as a result of the crisis at the southern border.

Abbott has criticized the administration of President Joe Biden for the surge in illegal immigration that has swamped facilities designed to hold migrants and resulted in many illegal immigrants who are detained being turned loose in Texas communities.

Noting the role of drug cartels and human smugglers in the border crisis, Abbott last month announced the creation of Operation Lone Star to have Texas law enforcement agencies, led by the Texas Department of Public Safety, focus on human trafficking and other crimes taking place during the surge. . .
