House Republican Doubles Down on Amnesty in Davos

Earlier this week, Rep. Maria Salazar (R-Fla.) joined the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, where she doubled down on her push for amnesty for illegal aliens. Specifically, she claimed, “[w]e need to also give dignity to those people who are in the country and those are the people that I represent. We’re talking about 13 to 15 million people — who are, most of them, Hispanics, I would say 85 percent who speak my language, look like me, and sound like me — who are contributing to the economy of this country and they live in the shadows. . . . Biden Admin Calling on Illegal Aliens to Snitch on American Citizens in Exchange for Massive Reward

Shady is as shady does. And the Biden administration is about as shady as it gets.

On Friday, the Department of Homeland Security announced an expedited deportation “relief” process for illegal immigrants who report their employers, according to the Post Millennial.

To put it another way, illegal immigrants are to be rewarded for ratting out the American citizens who hire them. . . . Read more about Biden Admin Calling on Illegal Aliens to Snitch on American Citizens in Exchange for Massive Reward

Exclusive: Biden Border Visit ‘Shouldn’t Be an Hour on the Tarmac,’ Says Rep. Tony Gonzales

Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-TX) spoke with Breitbart Texas about President Joe Biden’s visit to the border next week and outlined his wish to join the White House delegation to show real problems in the region.

The President’s scheduled visit to El Paso on Sunday will involve meeting with local officials, according to a White House statement issued on Thursday. Gonzales, whose district includes 800 miles of U.S.-Mexico Border within its boundaries, says the President needs to hear from a multitude of impacted parties. “We are in year three of this border crisis and people are expressing a wide range of emotions that run from anger, sadness, and for some, just giving up,” he emphasized. . . . FAIR: Speaker McCarthy, We're Here to Help

(January 7, 2023, Washington, D.C.) — The following statement was issued by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) in response to the election of Kevin McCarthy of California as the 53rd Speaker of the House:

"Over the past two years, we have all witnessed the devastating harm wrought by a rogue administration that is asserting near dictatorial powers in a relentless effort to keep our borders open. The American people are appalled by what is going on and want to see it ended.

"Now that the 118th Congress is officially underway with a new House majority, it is in large part because voters rejected the Biden administration's purposeful dismantling of our nation's borders, as well as former Speaker Pelosi's amnesty-first legislative agenda. Newly elected Speaker Kevin McCarthy and the entire Republican conference have a mandate to act decisively to restore control of our borders. . . .

Now in Charge, House Republicans Ante Up on Immigration with Two Bills; Action Expected Next Week

Although the leadership race has not been decided and committee membership is still in the works, House Republicans have already announced they will consider two immigration bills on the floor of the House next week.  The bills tackle two issues:  Title 42 expulsion authority and the law prohibiting illegal aliens from possessing firearms. The first bill, entitled the “Border Safety and Security Act of 2023,” is almost a carbon copy of a bill authored and introduced by Texas Congressman Chip Roy in May 2022.  It is a short, 3-page bill that essentially replicates the Title 42 authority to expel illegal aliens in Title 8, which houses the Immigration and Nationality Act.  Specifically, it grants the Secretary of Homeland Security the authority to expel aliens who do not have proper documents if the Secretary determines in his/her discretion that doing so “is necessary to achieve operational control over such border.” . . . Biden Unveils Plan to Launder the Unprecedented Flow of Illegal Aliens, Charges FAIR

“After two years of denying that the situation at our southern border constitutes a humanitarian, national security, and public health crisis, President Biden has issued new ‘border enforcement measures’ and ‘additional safe and orderly processes’ for unprecedented numbers of migrants attempting to enter the United States illegally.

“Far from stanching the self-inflicted, unprecedented flow of illegal aliens, the Biden administration announced today that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will now grant parole to Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and (per the prior program) Venezuelans facing ‘unique challenges’ in their home countries. . . . Omnibus Spending Bill Does Not Secure the Border, but Further Incentivizes and Enables Illegal Immigration, Charges FAIR

(December 23, 2022, Washington, D.C.) — The 117th Congress finally wrapped up business by approving a lame-duck, pork-laden $1.7 trillion spending bill – consisting of more than 4,000 pages that not a single member had the time to read and fully analyze – funding the federal government through the remainder of the fiscal year.

Passage of the omnibus coincides with a full-blown crisis along our southern border that is about to get a whole lot worse, as the Biden administration is close to ending Title 42, the last remaining mechanism in place under which a limited number of border-crossers are being removed from the country. Yet, not only did the Democratic-led Congress reject an amendment to keep Title 42 in place, they expressly barred increased funding for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) from being used to secure the border. . . . Omnibus Spending Bill: $410M for Border Security — in the Middle East

Judicial Ruling Barring Termination of Remain in Mexico Policy is a Life Vest for the President. He Should be Smart Enough to Take It

Late on the Thursday, Federal Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk issued a ruling preventing the Biden administration from terminating the Migrant Protection Protocols, aka, Remain in Mexico. The situation at the southern border is hurtling from disastrous to catastrophic – and heading toward cataclysmic, if Title 42 is canceled in the coming weeks. Under the circumstances, the president and the adults in the White House (if there are any left), should view Judge Kacsmaryk’s ruling as a deus ex machina opportunity to save themselves and the country. . . . Mayorkas Turns a Blind Eye to the Bad Optics in El Paso

Migrants are entering El Paso, Texas, at a crushing rate of 2,500 a day, but Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas managed to miss them during his visit to the beleaguered border city this week. The surge of illegal aliens is spilling onto the streets of El Paso, taxing already strained social services. Frustrated city officials report that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is releasing migrants into the community en masse. But    Mayorkas didn’t witness any of this for himself. In a tightly choreographed stop on Tuesday, the secretary met with Border Patrol agents at headquarters but did not tour any CBP processing centers, and he skirted around streets and alleys where migrants are dumped. . . .
