At least five Republican senators are open to a modified version of Joe Biden’s Amnesty. Axios reported Wednesday that a “bipartisan” group met to discuss “comprehensive immigration reform.” The four Republicans who attended the meeting were: John Cornyn of Texas, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. Murkowski, Collins, and Graham are no surprise; they all voted for Amnesty in 2013. What is notable is Cornyn’s attendance. He is one of the most powerful Republicans in the Senate and he previously opposed Amnesty. As Americans start to receive the latest round of stimulus checks, a new analysis reveals that about $4.38 billion will also go to illegal immigrants.

The Center for Immigration Studies estimates that 2.65 million illegal immigrants have Social Security numbers that allow them to receive stimulus checks. This group of illegal immigrants can be described as “aliens temporarily present without status,” according to Steven Camarota, director of research for the Center for Immigration Studies.

Immigration reformers are slapping down suggestions by the Republican establishment on finding “common ground” with Democrats over immigration, a veiled suggestion of amnesty for illegal aliens.

While President Trump continues his election challenge to Democrat Joe Biden in numerous swing states, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is discussing what a Republican-held Senate may do if they keep the United States Senate.

The United States having a significant foreign national population residing within the nations boundaries, be they legally or illegally present in the country, unfortunately includes those who commit crimes.

The extent and impact of foreign national crime on the U.S. citizens and residents of this country is clearly revealed by a simple search on the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) inmates statistics website under the heading of inmate citizenship.

Here are the countries of origin, moreover, the number and percentage of those countries citizens recently incarcerated in the U.S. BOP prison system (Note: The most recent BOP crime numbers available were from November 30, 2019.).

Inmate Citizenship:

- Mexico 20,363 inmates, 11.6 percent;
- Colombia 1,628 inmates, 0.9 percent;
- Dominican Republic 1,434 inmates, 0.8 percent;
- Cuba 1,104 inmates, 0.6 percent;
- Other / unknown countries 9,121 inmates, 5.2 percent;
- United States 142,500 inmates, 80.9 percent;

Total Inmates: 176,150 inmates.

To explain the meaning of these preceding criminal alien inmate numbers and percentages, I will translate them into words:

Combining November 30th BOP criminal alien inmate numbers, there were 33,650 criminal aliens in the BOP prison system. Alien inmates were 19.1 percent of the federal prison population.

With 20,363 Mexican nationals being incarcerated in the BOP prison system, at 60.5 percent, they were the vast majority of criminal aliens in federal prisons.

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons breaks down the federal prison population into 13 types of offenses. One of the top five offenses, the reason inmates are serving time in federal prisons is for immigration crimes. There were 10,113 inmates in the BOP prison system incarcerated for immigration crimes; they were 6.2 percent of the federal prison population.
