FAIR Applauds the House of Representatives for Impeaching Secretary Mayorkas

(February 13, 2024, Washington, D.C.) “Today’s vote in the House to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, only the second impeachment of a cabinet official in U.S. history, is a victory for the rule of law and the American people.

“Secretary Mayorkas has not just presided over the greatest wave of illegal immigration in the nation’s history, he has actively encouraged it, facilitated it, and then forced the costs down the throats of the American people. This month marks three years since he swore to uphold the laws of the United States and protect the security of the homeland. Secretary Mayorkas, however, has done precisely the opposite.

“At every turn, Secretary Mayorkas has ignored . . . Read more about FAIR Applauds the House of Representatives for Impeaching Secretary Mayorkas

‘Cash in Envelopes’: How the US and UN Are Funding the Border Crisis

The United States is bankrolling its own “invasion” by funding the United Nations and its partners, which, in turn, give hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and aid to migrants who eventually cross the U.S. southern border illegally.

While the U.N. has aided migrants for decades, the scope of its operation has dramatically expanded as the number of illegal immigrants—from at least 160 countries—into the United States has surged.

That expansion has been fueled by more than $1 billion in funding from the U.S. government to the U.N. and other agencies assisting migrants, according to a government spending . . . Read more about ‘Cash in Envelopes’: How the US and UN Are Funding the Border Crisis

Mayorkas Refusing to Disclose Full Accounting of Every Illegal Alien Freed into U.S. Under Biden

Facing impeachment, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is refusing to hand over to Congress a full accounting of every illegal alien that has been released into the United States since President Joe Biden took office in late January 2021.

Last month, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement Subcommittee Chairman Tom McClintock (R-CA) sent a letter to Mayorkas asking for a “numerical breakdown of all illegal alien releases at . . . Homeless Problem Surges in Portland, Maine, as State Brings in Illegal Immigrants

PORTLAND, Maine—For 36-year-old Sheena, every day has been a struggle since she and her husband wound up homeless on the streets of Portland—Maine’s largest city on the Atlantic coastline—five months ago.

The couple had been “kicked out” of a motel after two years, though they “never once got in trouble,” she said.

Suddenly, they had nowhere else to go.

On Dec. 16, 2023, the couple were living in a pitched tent in the city’s largest homeless campsite near the Casco Bay Bridge in Harbor View Memorial Park.

Sheena said she blames the high cost of rent and limited affordable housing for the rapid growth of homeless encampments throughout the city.

She also feels the city gives “first priority” to newly arrived illegal immigrants, which “makes it even worse” for the unsheltered homeless population. . . . Read more about Homeless Problem Surges in Portland, Maine, as State Brings in Illegal Immigrants

During Border Visit, Speaker Johnson Calls on President Biden to Reinstate ‘Remain in Mexico’ Policy

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and some 60 House Republicans visited the west Texas border town of Eagle Pass, where customs officials recently recorded more than 4,000 contacts with illegal immigrants on a single day.

The visit calls attention to the nation’s dysfunctional immigration system, which has allowed more than 6.5 million people to cross the southern border illegally in the past three years.

The influx has overwhelmed the capacity of border towns and the nation’s largest cities alike. And it has become an animating issue for House Republicans, who insist that the Senate enact and President Joe Biden adopt sweeping policy . . . Report: Biden’s DHS Admits Barriers are Most Effective Measure at Border

WASHINGTON – The Immigration Reform Law Institute has obtained an internal audit report from the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General (OIG), admitting what most Americans already understand: border barriers are the most effective measures for curbing illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The OIG document was the result of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from IRLI as part of an investigative report on the value of physical barriers at the border. The audit report directly contradicts the position of the Biden Administration, which has long claimed that a border wall is “not a serious policy solution” and a “waste of . . .

‘We’re Just Uber Drivers’: Border Patrol Agent Says America Is Being Destroyed

JACUMBA, Calif.—Two older SUVs appear to come out of nowhere, slowly at first, then kicking up clouds of dust as they pick up speed along the southern side of the U.S.–Mexico border. Two white vans tail them to a gap in the border wall.

With covered faces, smugglers suspected of working for drug cartels exit the vehicles, which bear a mix of Californian and Mexican license plates. The coyotes, as they are known, glare through the slats in the 30-foot-tall border wall, while keeping an eye on . . .
