Victory! Another Sanctuary Ordinance Falls

WASHINGTON—Yesterday, in a major victory against sanctuary policies, Indiana’s Lake Superior Court struck down key parts of an ordinance that the City of East Chicago, Indiana, had enacted to protect illegal aliens, even ones with criminal records, from federal immigration law enforcement. The decision is a major victory for the plaintiffs, who are represented by the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) and The Bopp Law Firm. Previously, the same attorneys represented plaintiffs who successfully challenged a similar ordinance in Gary, Indiana. . . Read more about Victory! Another Sanctuary Ordinance Falls

Biden Administration Starts Reuniting Families Separated at Mexico Border

The Biden administration is reuniting four children who were separated from their families at the U.S.-Mexico border under the previous administration, officials said on Monday.

“We expect for families to be reunited tomorrow,” Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said on “CBS This Morning.”

The reunification effort stems from a task force that President Joe Biden established via an executive order in February. The task force was told to focus on identifying parents and children broken apart during the Trump administration and to figure out how to reunify them. . . President Biden Admits He’s About To Break All The Rules – Joe Plans To Ram Holy Grail Through Congress: Amnesty

Remember when candidate Joe Biden said he wouldn’t abuse the power of the President? That he would be a moderate, transitional President that would unite Americans?

Today Joe is showing he’s just a swamp politician who said whatever he needed to get elected.

How do we know this? Because he’s planning to ram one of the most controversial bills in the last 40 years through Congress with the barest majority, with no debate.

That’s right, he plans to use a 50-50 reconciliation bill to jam through something that has nothing to do with budget reconciliation. From Breitbart:

President Joe Biden told Hispanic members of Congress on Tuesday he supported the idea of moving legislation on immigration reform using budget reconciliation and a simple Democrat majority.

Joe Kent Explains How Immigration is a National Security Issue and Why Military Should Be Used to Secure the Border

Congressional candidate Joe Kent recently appeared on Big League Politics Live where he explained that border security is a pressing national security issue and why the military should have a role in keeping dangerous illegal immigrants out of the U.S.

“We’re seeing human trafficking, sex trafficking, drug trafficking, all of that come through this massive surge of immigration because we have an unsecured border. I think that’s a major national security issue,” he said. . . Read more about Joe Kent Explains How Immigration is a National Security Issue and Why Military Should Be Used to Secure the Border

Red State Governors Are Saying No To Biden’s Illegal-Alien Dumping Plan. But What About LEGAL Immigration?

The federal government can’t house and care for the horde of unaccompanied illegal-alien minors at the border, so President Biden has a solution: send them to Red States [Biden administration considers flying migrants to states near the Canadian border for processing, by Nick Miroff, the Washington Post, March 20, 2021]. But some Republican governors are saying no. Their resistance to this illegal-alien dumping shows that the GOP/GAP is moving in the right direction. But much more must be done—above all opposing legal immigrationto prove Republicans are the America First party and stop the Great Replacement. . . Lawsuit: 2,400 Illegal Alien Criminals Released under San Francisco Sheriff’s Sanctuary Policy

If you want to know the danger sanctuary policies produce, look no farther than San Francisco, where criminals are permitted to roam free.

We have sued to overturn the San Francisco Sheriff’s sanctuary policy, and our suit revealed that more than 2,400 criminal illegal aliens were released under the department’s policy on communications with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) about criminal illegal aliens in the Sheriff’s custody. (Cynthia Cerletti v. Vicki Hennessy, Sheriff (No. CGC-16-556164)). A hearing in the court challenge occurred on April 5.

We note in a recent court filing that the Sheriff’s office’s policy “is so effective in regulating immigration and obstructing Congress’ purposes under federal immigration law that, in over 2,401 known instances, it has never resulted in ICE taking into custody a single alien, not even aliens with significant criminal backgrounds wanted for removal.”. . . Biden, Not Trump, Driving Border Crisis

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas summed up our border crisis in a statement he released March 16: "We are on pace to encounter more individuals on the southwest border than we have in the last 20 years."

According to The Wall Street Journal, Border Patrol agents made about 75,000 arrests of migrants crossing illegally in January.

And, the Journal reports, "the government is seeing more children arriving each day than ever before, with an average of 523 children taken into custody by Border Patrol agents each day over the last three weeks" . . . Read more about Biden, Not Trump, Driving Border Crisis

Biden Decision to Cancel Immigration Public Charge “Sticks it to Taxpayers,” Says FAIR

(March 12, 2021, Washington, D.C.) – The following statement was released in response to the Biden administration’s decision to cancel the public charge rule in the midst of an immigration crisis.  The statement should be attributed to Dan Stein, president, Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR):

“After decimating immigration enforcement and creating a crisis on our southern border, the Biden administration has decided to stick it to the American taxpayers by canceling a rule that would have barred people who are likely to become public charges from immigrating to the United States legally.

“The rule that would have shielded U.S. taxpayers from having to provide costly public benefits, such as cash benefits for income maintenance, SNAP, most forms of Medicaid, Section 8 Housing Assistance, Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance, and certain other forms of subsidized housing, is now gone, and taxpayers will remain on the hook for these costs.

“The principle that immigrants be self-sufficient predates our republic, and has been codified into law since 1882. But none of that, nor the burdens placed on the American people, matters one whit to an administration that is hell-bent on eliminating all rational rules and enforcement where it comes to immigration. . .
