Two relatives of a Hillsboro murder suspect have been in jail for more than a year and a half, though they aren't suspected of taking part in the killing.

Eloy Vasquez-Santiago's father and brother had faced charges of hindering the prosecution ....

Vasquez-Santiago, 31, is charged with the killing of 55-year-old Maria Bolanos-Rivera, a mother of six.

Bolanos-Rivera was last seen by her family on Aug. 26, 2012, when she left her Hillsboro home. Her body has not been found.

Vasquez-Santiago turned himself in to authorities at the California-Mexico border a month later. According to court records and testimony, he uttered the words, "I killed her,"...

The defendant's relatives have been in custody on the material witness holds for about 16 months...
