Exclusive: Biden Border Visit ‘Shouldn’t Be an Hour on the Tarmac,’ Says Rep. Tony Gonzales

Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-TX) spoke with Breitbart Texas about President Joe Biden’s visit to the border next week and outlined his wish to join the White House delegation to show real problems in the region.

The President’s scheduled visit to El Paso on Sunday will involve meeting with local officials, according to a White House statement issued on Thursday. Gonzales, whose district includes 800 miles of U.S.-Mexico Border within its boundaries, says the President needs to hear from a multitude of impacted parties. “We are in year three of this border crisis and people are expressing a wide range of emotions that run from anger, sadness, and for some, just giving up,” he emphasized. . . . Mayorkas Turns a Blind Eye to the Bad Optics in El Paso

Migrants are entering El Paso, Texas, at a crushing rate of 2,500 a day, but Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas managed to miss them during his visit to the beleaguered border city this week. The surge of illegal aliens is spilling onto the streets of El Paso, taxing already strained social services. Frustrated city officials report that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is releasing migrants into the community en masse. But    Mayorkas didn’t witness any of this for himself. In a tightly choreographed stop on Tuesday, the secretary met with Border Patrol agents at headquarters but did not tour any CBP processing centers, and he skirted around streets and alleys where migrants are dumped. . . . Texas Governor Seeks Probe of NGOs for Alleged Migrant ‘Illegal Border Crossing’ Assistance

Texas Governor Greg Abbott called on the attorney general to open an investigation into non-government organizations or NGOs who may have assisted in migrant border crossings into the state. The move comes after record-setting large group crossings around El Paso over the weekend.“There have been recent reports that non-governmental organizations may have assisted with illegal border crossings near El Paso,” Governor Abbott wrote in a letter to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. “We further understand NGOs may be engaged in unlawfully orchestrating other border crossings through activities on both sides of the border, including in sectors other than El Paso. In light of these reports, I am calling on the Texas Attorney General’s Office to initiate an investigation into . . . Venezuelans Swarm Across Rio Grande at El Paso, Attack Border Patrol

On Monday, a large group illegally crossed the southern border into the United States at El Paso, Texas and attacked Border Patrol agents. One individual in the group was carrying a giant Venezuelan flag.

Bill Melugin and Adam Shaw of Fox News reported:

[Border Patrol] said one of the protesters assaulted an agent with a flagpole while another threw a rock at agents, injuring one in the process. That in turn led Border Patrol to initiate crowd-control measures.

"These measures included the use of the authorized less-lethal force pepperball launching system," the statement said. "The crowd then dispersed and returned to Mexico." . . . Read more about Venezuelans Swarm Across Rio Grande at El Paso, Attack Border Patrol

Border Incompetence Leaves Over 60,000 Aliens in Limbo, Drawing Fire from All Sides

In May, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stated that the objective of the Biden administration was “safe, orderly… pathways for individuals to be able to access our legal system”, usurping the congressional mandate for a secure border. However, it seems that under current leadership, DHS can’t handle even this watered-down mission. A scathing new report shows that the Biden administration failed to deliver this promised “orderly access” to tens of thousands of illegal aliens it has let into the country. The sheer scale of this failure threatens our already overloaded immigration court system. . . . Read more about Border Incompetence Leaves Over 60,000 Aliens in Limbo, Drawing Fire from All Sides

Social Welfare for Illegal Aliens is Now Being Funneled Through ICE

The hits just keep coming from the most radically open-borders administration in U.S. history. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently created the Case Management Pilot Program (CMPP) to provide a range of taxpayer-funded services to illegal aliens in removal proceedings. Even worse, they tapped a Soros-funded nonprofit that wants to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to oversee it. The fox is truly guarding the henhouse. . . . Read more about Social Welfare for Illegal Aliens is Now Being Funneled Through ICE

DHS Announces Plan to Stop Some Venezuelan Aliens at the Southern Border

On Wednesday, The Department of Homeland Security announced a new effort to stop the migration of Venezuela’s convicted criminals to the United States, restoring in part the Trump-era policy of returning some migrants back over the border to Mexico.

The Department of Homeland Security stated that it would accept 24,000 Venezuelans through the legal avenue of “parole,” a privilege granted to DHS to allow aliens into the United States on an individual, frequently on a humanitarian basis - but used by the Biden Admin. in illegally broad swaths.

To qualify as one of the 24,000 Venezuelans allowed into the U.S. via parole, a Venezuelan national must apply, be vetted, and be accepted by DHS while still outside the country. . . . Read more about DHS Announces Plan to Stop Some Venezuelan Aliens at the Southern Border
