Migrants Charged by Texas Police for Breaching Border Barriers

EAGLE PASS, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are now charging arrested migrants who cross the Rio Grande with criminal trespass after attempting to breach temporary border walls in the heart of downtown Eagle Pass. As Breitbart Texas watched along the Rio Grande on Friday, one group of migrants was arrested by Highway Patrol troopers from Texas and Florida after managing to move through a stretch of concertina wire.

Breitbart Texas observed the group of six migrants as they emerged from the river and were swiftly taken into custody by the troopers. The group of migrants from Honduras and Venezuela was later featured in a tweet by a Texas Highway Patrol spokesperson who says the group now faces criminal trespass charges. . . . The apprehension of migrants by Border Patrol agents along the southwest border fell by about nine percent in May, according to a CBP source. The slight decline in apprehensions follows the Biden administration’s ending of the Title 42 COVID-19 migrant expulsion program.

Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 165,000 migrants who crossed the southwest border from Mexico between ports of entry, according to an unofficial Border Patrol report reviewed by Breitbart Texas. Leaked Memo Exposes Biden's New Policy That Will Dramatically Spike Human Trafficking - Report

The Biden administration is ending a Trump-era plan designed to crack down on fake claims of family relationships among illegal immigrants crossing America’s southern border.

The policy will end May 31, according to a leaked memo published by Just the News.

“The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) familial DNA contract with BODE Technologies will end on May 31, 2023 and all familial DNA testing will conclude on that date,” the memo said.

In 2019, Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan told the Senate Judiciary Committee that, based on initial results of one pilot program, 15 percent of alleged migrant families are committing fraud by claiming unrelated children as their own, according to The Hill. . . .

EXCLUSIVE: April Migrant Apprehensions in South Texas Border Sector Double Prior Month

A source operating under the umbrella of U.S. Customs and Border Protection not authorized to speak to the media on these matters told Breitbart Texas that agents apprehended more than 37,000 migrants in April. The monthly total represents an increase of more than 100 percent from the nearly 18,000 migrants apprehended in March. It also exceeds the total apprehensions for February and March combined — just under 33,000.

The tremendous spike in migrant apprehensions in April come just ahead of the expected demise of the CDC’s Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol that allows Border Patrol agents to expel migrants for health concerns.
