PORTLAND, Ore. – Police arrested a Portland man on drug charges after discovering more than 5 pounds of heroin in his freezer.

Police said officers from the bureau’s drugs and vice division were following up on drug complaints in the area of Southeast 92nd Avenue and Division Street on Jan. 13. Officers knocked on the door of 9230 SE Division and the person who answered granted them consent to search the home for drugs, police said.

Officers found 4.67 pounds of packaged heroin in the freezer, along with 1.1 pounds of individually packaged pieces of heroin.

Police arrested 28-year-old Uriel Hermosillo-Castillon and booked him into the Multnomah County Jail.

Police say the street value of the seized heroin is between $390,000 and $446,000.
