A very generous OFIR member has once again offered a matching grant to help raise the funds needed for the Protect Oregon Driver Licenses referendum election campaign.

We face a very well funded and highly motivated opposition and five months of intensive campaigning.  We need your help now to ensure our success in the November general election.

A contribution of any size would be greatly appreciated. Our donor will match your contribution - dollar for dollar - up to a $5,000 total. For example, if you contribute $25 - our donor will match that with $25, too - doubling your contribution!

Folks - it doesn't get much better than this! Please take advantage of this very generous offer and give as much as you can, but no more than you can afford.

Your contribution will help with the myriad of expenses involved in operating a winning campaign specifically designed to educate the public about the dangers of granting state issued ID - in the form of special driver licenses - to those who can't even prove they are legally present in the United States.

For example:  One critical component in educating the public about the dangers associated with issuing these special driver licenses is through statements submitted to the Secretary of States office by our supporters and endorsers and printed in the voters pamphlet. Just one statement for the Voters Pamphlet costs $1,200.  Other costs include yard and field signs, radio ads, literature and much more.

We run a very tight ship and every single penny is stretched to the limit - but, there are expenses that just can't be avoided and that's why we need your help today, so we will be successful in November!

There are several ways you can help the PODL campaign:

You can choose to contribute online with a credit card or through PayPal.

If you would like to make a contribution each month throughout the campaign, that option is now available on our website at the link above.  For example - I would like to send you $500 for the campaign, but I can't afford to right now, but I could afford to send you $100 a month for the 5 months of the campaign!  Or, you could make an ongoing monthly contribution just as easily.

Don't let this opportunity to double your contribution slip away - contribute today! Remember to Vote NO in NOvember!

If you are unable to contribute financially at this time - that's ok! We need help in many, many ways. Go to our website and click on How You Can Help Choose something that is of interest to you and let us know. It will take all kinds of volunteers and all of us working together to be successful in November.

Mail your check or money order to:

PO Box 7354
Salem, OR 97303

Note: For reporting purposes, the law requires we ask for your occupation and employer on any donations that total over $100. Please include this information

Thank you very much!  Now - let's go win this!

Rep. Bonamici will be holding several Town Halls in June, from June 3-14.

The news release announcing the town halls quotes her: “These town halls are an excellent opportunity to hear directly from my constituents about the issues that they value most. I encourage all my constituents to attend and participate.”

So let’s ask her why she supports “comprehensive immigration reform,” meaning amnesty for illegal aliens. She recently voted for H.R. 15, a House version of the notorious Senate-passed S.744, granting sweeping amnesties to illegal aliens and greatly increasing levels of legal immigration.

Tell Rep. Bonamici NO AMNESTY, no increases in immigration. Too many citizens are already out of work or underemployed because of competition from illegal aliens and irresponsibly-issued visas for legal foreign workers.

Rep. Bonamici is graded D by NumbersUSA based on her voting record on immigration issues. See the record at http://www.numbersusa.com. Click Congress – Immigration Grade Cards.

If you need more ideas for questions to ask the Representative, you can find very good ones at http://cis.org/questions-for-lawmakers-on-immigration

The most effective action is to speak to Rep. Bonamici personally. If you cannot attend a Town Hall, you can contact Congresswoman Bonamici online. Please visit the Contact Me page (https://bonamici.house.gov/contact-me) to contact her electronically or click on the office location nearest you for details. The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) will host the 8th annual Hold Their Feet to the Fire Radio Row, tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday, April 9 and 10, in Washington DC.

Oregon’s own Lars Larson, of the KXL talk show, will participate as he has done several times in the past. The event brings together radio hosts from all over the country, giving them the opportunity to interview Capitol Hill lawmakers, law enforcement officials, immigration experts and activists both days.

We are happy that he can be there for his daily broadcasts, and we ask you especially to call in on Wednesday and Thursday while he’s on the air. He may be interviewing someone important on Capitol Hill and you could have a chance to raise a question with that person.

Lars’ NW show runs from noon to 3 pm PT; then his National show continues from 3-6 PT. You can listen to the program live through his website at http://larslarson.com. His call-in line is 866-HEY-LARS or 866-439-5277 or (503) 417-9595.

After months of waiting and after a devious move by the Oregon Legislature to hi-jack the referendum ballot title, the Supreme Court has notified us that the ballot title and ballot summary language will remain just as the Attorney General submitted.

The House floor debate was moved to this Thursday - please plan to attend in the House of Representatives gallery.

In one of the most arrogant swipes at citizen activism, some in the Oregon Legislature have put forth an amendment to hijack the veto referendum ballot title and language issued by the Oregon Attorney General.  The House of Representatives will hear the bill Thursday morning at 10:30am.

Read The Oregonian's opinion of their handiwork.

If you are able, please plan to join us at the Capitol and watch the debate.  I know there are several Representatives repulsed by the actions of their peers.

Be certain to bring quarters - it costs .25 cents for every ten minutes of parking ($1.50 and hour).
