Arizona Sheriff: Thanks to Biden, Mexican Smugglers Now Have Their Own High-Speed Roads in America

COMMENTARY

Roads across the southwestern United States are becoming drug-trafficking highways, according to an Arizona sheriff.

After President Joe Biden’s executive order in January halting construction of the southern border wall, workers “just built roads for the cartels,” Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels told The Washington Times.

Throughout the Trump administration, alongside the border wall itself, high-speed roads were built for use by the Border Patrol to better police America’s southern border. . .

More migrants are coming to the United States, and the solution is more U.S. foreign aid to Central America, says Mexico’s foreign minister.

“If you look at the region from different points of view, but especially demographics and economics, it is clear the flows are going to be constant and growing in coming years,” said foreign secretary Marcelo Ebrard, according to an Associated Press April 8 report.

“The United States will have to allocate $2 billion per year for development in these countries, in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador,” said Ebrard, who is involved in the slow-motion negotiations with the White House about the migration surge into the United States.

The $2 billion per year is roughly twice as much money as the $1 billion per year that President Joe Biden has suggested the U.S. should spend in Central America. . .

New York will offer “one-time payments of up to $15,600 to undocumented immigrants who lost work during the pandemic,” according to reports.

Kamala Harris Ignores Border Crisis, Instead Buys Cake in Chicago

Vice President Kamala Harris is supposed to be fixing the humanitarian crisis at the southern border of the U.S. — but she’s too busy with her cake to lift a finger to help the situation.

COVID Migrants Get a Pass and Head Into U.S

The U.S.-Mexico border remains officially closed to non-essential traffic. But that’s not stopping asylum seekers from pushing on and, in some cases, bringing COVID-19 with them.

In the face of federal and state efforts to contain COVID, migrants crossing into Texas are testing positive for the virus, and continuing their travels into the U.S. While the Biden administration says it is handling the surging numbers, a Democrat congressman sees deteriorating conditions in his border district.

“[The administration is] only listening to the immigration activists, and they’re not listening to the folks on the border,” Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Laredo, complained Wednesday. The same day, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) tweeted, “The Biden administration is recklessly releasing hundreds of illegal immigrants who have COVID into Texas communities.”. . COMMENTARY : Humiliating Leak Shows Biden's DHS Chief Admit Trump Was Right, Suggest Restarting Border Wall: Report

In a humiliating rebuke to President Joe Biden, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas reportedly told employees he’s considering restarting wall construction as the Democrats’ border apocalypse metastasizes out of control.

In so doing, Mayorkas — a Biden appointee — tacitly admitted that former President Donald Trump was right when he said that walls work and Biden was wrong when he abruptly halted construction. . . Commentary: GOP Demands Answers as Report of Terror Suspects Arrested at Border Mysteriously Disappears

If there’s an innocent explanation, Republicans would love to hear it.

A news release issued Monday by Customs and Border Security about the arrest of terror suspects along the southern border brimmed with brio about agents’ fulfilling their mission of protecting the American people from alien threats entering the country illegally.

By Tuesday, the release had been disappeared — and Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee want to know why. . .

Biden Decision to Cancel Immigration Public Charge “Sticks it to Taxpayers,” Says FAIR

(March 12, 2021, Washington, D.C.) – The following statement was released in response to the Biden administration’s decision to cancel the public charge rule in the midst of an immigration crisis.  The statement should be attributed to Dan Stein, president, Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR):

“After decimating immigration enforcement and creating a crisis on our southern border, the Biden administration has decided to stick it to the American taxpayers by canceling a rule that would have barred people who are likely to become public charges from immigrating to the United States legally.

“The rule that would have shielded U.S. taxpayers from having to provide costly public benefits, such as cash benefits for income maintenance, SNAP, most forms of Medicaid, Section 8 Housing Assistance, Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance, and certain other forms of subsidized housing, is now gone, and taxpayers will remain on the hook for these costs.

“The principle that immigrants be self-sufficient predates our republic, and has been codified into law since 1882. But none of that, nor the burdens placed on the American people, matters one whit to an administration that is hell-bent on eliminating all rational rules and enforcement where it comes to immigration. . .
