Switzerland declares a freeze on admission for ‘refugees’

More and more countries are readjusting their asylum and immigration policies under the current onslaught of asylum seekers. Switzerland is now also pulling the emergency brake and does not want to take in any more “refugees”. A “temporary freeze on admissions”, it is said from Bern, is necessary because capacities are exhausted

.Specifically, this means that Switzerland is suspending its participation in the United Nations refugee program. After the arrival of thousands of refugees from Ukraine, the reception capacities are currently exhausted, said the spokesman for the State Secretariat for Migration, Lukas Rieder. The Swiss are now showing the stop sign to migrants from other countries. This also affects “refugees who are particularly in need of protection” selected by the UN. . . . Joe Biden Expands ‘Disaster Migrant’ Population to 530,000

President Joe Biden’s advisers have granted temporary legal status to roughly 30,000 Ethiopians now living in the United States.

The award of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) was announced Friday as Ethiopia’s government continues a disastrous war against a non-Ethiopian ethnic group in the Tigray region of the country.

“The United States recognizes the ongoing armed conflict and the extraordinary and temporary conditions engulfing Ethiopia, and DHS is committed to providing temporary protection [for 18 months] to those in need,” said a statement from Alejandro Mayorkas, the pro-migration secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. The statement added:

Ethiopian nationals currently residing in the U.S. who cannot safely return due to conflict-related violence and a humanitarian crisis involving severe food shortages, flooding, drought, and displacement, will be able to remain and work in the United States until conditions in their home country improve. . . . DHS Announces Plan to Stop Some Venezuelan Aliens at the Southern Border

On Wednesday, The Department of Homeland Security announced a new effort to stop the migration of Venezuela’s convicted criminals to the United States, restoring in part the Trump-era policy of returning some migrants back over the border to Mexico.

The Department of Homeland Security stated that it would accept 24,000 Venezuelans through the legal avenue of “parole,” a privilege granted to DHS to allow aliens into the United States on an individual, frequently on a humanitarian basis - but used by the Biden Admin. in illegally broad swaths.

To qualify as one of the 24,000 Venezuelans allowed into the U.S. via parole, a Venezuelan national must apply, be vetted, and be accepted by DHS while still outside the country. . . . Read more about DHS Announces Plan to Stop Some Venezuelan Aliens at the Southern Border
