New FAIR Cost Study: Biden Immigration Policies Impose Crushing Burden on Already-Strained Schools

A new report by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) finds that one in ten students in our nation’s public schools are considered Limited English Proficient (LEP), requiring an annual expenditure of $78 billion to provide remedial English language instruction. Moreover, the surge of illegal migration instigated by Biden administration policies – including an unprecedented number of unaccompanied alien children (UACs) – is outpacing the nation’s education system’s ability to hire enough teachers qualified to meet the needs of LEP kids.

It’s also worth noting that due to an approximately two year delay in releasing official enrollment and detailed cost data in most states and school districts, the figures in this report are accurate as of the 2020 school year, and do not include education costs incurred by the millions of illegal aliens who have entered the country since President Biden took office. Because of this, the true cost today is almost certainly at least several billion dollars more than the estimates detailed in this report. . . . Colorado Democrat’s Office Sent Mailers Urging 30K Foreign Nationals to Register to Vote

Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold’s (D) office admits they mistakenly sent mailers to about 30,000 foreign nationals encouraging them to register to vote.

On Monday, Griswold’s office admitted that about 30,000 foreign nationals living in Colorado had accidentally been sent mailers that urged them to register to vote. Griswold is facing reelection against Republican Pam Anderson.Griswold’s office insisted that none of the foreign nationals will be allowed to register to vote and said they were not aware of any foreign nationals who had tried to register as a result of the mailers. Debate Over Allowing In Russians Fleeing Mobilization Raises Important Concerns

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February, Moscow has so far failed to break Kyiv’s resistance, albeit not without causing a tremendous deal of death, suffering, and destruction. In fact, the Ukrainian forces pushed back the Russians in September in a counter-offensive, prompting Vladimir Putin to declare a partial mobilization to beef up the Kremlin’s military after it suffered significant losses. Anti-war protests followed as a result, and many young men began fleeing the country to avoid conscription. . . . Obama Claims Racism to Suppress American Opposition to Biden’s Deadly Migration

Americans oppose President Joe Biden’s lawless and wage-cutting mass migration because they are racist, not because of their economic worries, according to former President Barack Obama“Right now, the biggest fuel behind the Republican agenda is related to immigration and the fear that somehow America’s character is going to be changed if, people of darker shades, there are too many of them here,” Obama told a meeting of Hispanic realtors on September 25 in San Diego, California. . . . Texas’s Democrat Enclaves Bridle at the Migrant Surge in Their Midst

It’s not swanky, cranky Martha’s Vineyard, but Democrat leaders in El Paso are also chafing over migrants in their midst. Border crossings are nothing new for El Pasoans, yet the current unprecedented volumes are overwhelming. The city expects to spend $10 million this month alone feeding, housing and transporting migrants —10 times those outlays over the past four years. With costs running $300,000 a day, officials have cut public safety budgets while wondering if or when relief will come from their party patrons in Washington, D.C. “I don’t think anybody’s expecting it to get any better anytime soon,” grumbles Robert Cortinas, chief financial officer for the city government. Gonzales: Biden Deporting only 150 of 11,000 of ‘Dedicated Docket’ Migrants with Deportation Orders Shows They Aren’t Enforcing the Law

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) reacted to numbers from The Los Angeles Times that over 60,000 migrants have entered the “dedicated docket” program launched by the administration in 2021 and around 11,000 have gotten deportation orders, but only about 150 have been deported through July 2022, by stating that the figures show “the administration isn’t doing what it’s supposed to do” and isn’t enforcing the law. . . . Eric Adams Paints Himself into a Sanctuary Corner

Progressive mayors and governors have had a nice run for more than a decade while their opposition largely stood down. These politicians soaked up the praise from their base that came with declaring their fiefdoms “sanctuaries,” places that defy federal immigration laws and serve as a magnet for noncitizens here illegally. Those who disagreed with the policy were mostly shamed into silence, for fear of being called pejoratives like “nativist,” “xenophobe,” or the dreaded but increasingly tiresome “racist.” . . . IDNYC: Strain on Services and an Asset to Asylum Abusers

Every proposal for common-sense immigration control relies on proof of identity, both for showing status and ability to work and for receiving services. A number of states have flouted this basic principle by issuing non-REAL ID compliant driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, making it more convenient to remain here illegally. However, the current surge in illegal immigrants overwhelming sanctuary cities is highlighting another way that rogue mayors have enabled large-scale fraud and abuse: municipal IDs, in particular New York City’s IDNYC program. . . . Crucial Victory! Federal Judge Blocks Mayorkas’ Subversion of Immigration Laws

FAIR Analysis: 4.9 Million Illegal Aliens Have Crossed our Borders Since President Biden Took Office

Earlier this month, President Biden took credit for the July inflation rate being “only” 8.5 percent. Now that July border numbers are finally public, the White House may take credit for the fact that “only” 199,976 illegal aliens crossed our border, down from 207,416 in June. A minor drop in border encounters is not encouraging. Traditionally, numbers drop in the hottest summer months, and last month’s figures actually represent a 325 percent increase over the average number of July apprehensions under the Trump administration. . . .
