Millennials, Gen Z and Mass Immigration

Younger people should have more incentive to oppose uncontrolled immigration than anyone else. Firstly, they are now being forced to compete for jobs with a never ending tidal wave of cheap labor from the developing world. This is true for both high school and college graduates. Second, even as they are forced to work for lower wages (pushed down by mass legal and illegal immigration), their ability to save money, pay off debts, buy a home and start a family is being horribly undermined. This is true for both Millennials (born between 1980 and the late 1990s) and Generation Z . . . Read more about Millennials, Gen Z and Mass Immigration

Homeless Problem Surges in Portland, Maine, as State Brings in Illegal Immigrants

PORTLAND, Maine—For 36-year-old Sheena, every day has been a struggle since she and her husband wound up homeless on the streets of Portland—Maine’s largest city on the Atlantic coastline—five months ago.

The couple had been “kicked out” of a motel after two years, though they “never once got in trouble,” she said.

Suddenly, they had nowhere else to go.

On Dec. 16, 2023, the couple were living in a pitched tent in the city’s largest homeless campsite near the Casco Bay Bridge in Harbor View Memorial Park.

Sheena said she blames the high cost of rent and limited affordable housing for the rapid growth of homeless encampments throughout the city.

She also feels the city gives “first priority” to newly arrived illegal immigrants, which “makes it even worse” for the unsheltered homeless population. . . . Read more about Homeless Problem Surges in Portland, Maine, as State Brings in Illegal Immigrants

Texas AG Paxton: The Biden Administration Is ‘Aiding and Abetting the Cartels’

During this week’s broadcast of FNC’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton accused the Biden administration’s Department of Justice of “aiding and abetting” the criminal cartels operating near the U.S.-Mexico border.

“We’re getting reports that there’s some 15,000 people in a caravan moving up and north,” fill-in host Jason Chaffetz said. “And, look, these are like daily numbers now coming out of Mexico, not all Mexicans, people from all across the world. We have no idea who these people are and what they’re trying to do. So, Texas, I feel for you, because you’re trying to do something, and yet . . . ‘We’re Just Uber Drivers’: Border Patrol Agent Says America Is Being Destroyed

JACUMBA, Calif.—Two older SUVs appear to come out of nowhere, slowly at first, then kicking up clouds of dust as they pick up speed along the southern side of the U.S.–Mexico border. Two white vans tail them to a gap in the border wall.

With covered faces, smugglers suspected of working for drug cartels exit the vehicles, which bear a mix of Californian and Mexican license plates. The coyotes, as they are known, glare through the slats in the 30-foot-tall border wall, while keeping an eye on . . . Illegal Aliens Disgruntled with Sanctuary City, So They Are Heading Back Home: 'Nothing Here for Us'

Some illegal aliens who made the trek to Chicago from Venezuela and other places are so disillusioned with their experiences that they are headed back to their home country.

Venezuelan Michael Castejon, 39, told the Chicago Tribune that he feels lied to about how he and his wife and daughter would find a better life in the United States.

“The American Dream doesn’t exist anymore,” Castejon lamented. “There’s nothing here for us. We just want to be home.”The Venezuelan couple expected to come to this country and be handed all sorts of wonderful benefits, and they especially wanted their daughter enrolled in a free U.S. school. . . . Migrants Refuse to Stay at New NYC Shelter, Demand New Accommodations

They wanted to live in America, but not at an emergency shelter created by New York City at Brooklyn’s Floyd Bennett Field.

A tent city was erected at the former airfield where New York plans to house about 2,000 illegal immigrants who have come to the City.

But when a bus arrived Sunday afternoon, several of the illegal immigrants said it was not good enough, according to the New York Post.

“We weren’t told where we were going. I work in the Bronx. My kids go to school in the Bronx. For us to live out here is ridiculous. We’re going back,” one migrant told the Post. . . . Read more about Migrants Refuse to Stay at New NYC Shelter, Demand New Accommodations

Border Policy, Housing, Water, and Farms

Given immigration's recent and projected contributions to U.S. population growth, immigration policy is an important factor that drives up housing prices and rents. According to a study published by the Urban Institute's Housing Matters Initiative, immigration causes a significant increase in home prices and rents in the metropolitan areas where migrants settle, and an even bigger increase in surrounding areas.

A surge in illegal immigration is worsening America's existing housing crisis, and is costing state and local governments (i.e., taxpayers) millions. Communities simply do not have enough affordable homes, enough shelter, or enough tax money to help everyone who needs it. Out of desperation, towns and cities have tried everything from paying for hotel rooms to converting school gymnasiums and giant tents into temporary shelters, along with support services. For example, tax-funded hotel stays can include three meals a day, weekly . . . Read more about Border Policy, Housing, Water, and Farms

Liberals Must Choose Between Israel And Immigration

The war between Hamas and Israel forces everyone to recognize an uncomfortable truth: Immigration is a foreign-policy issue.

In Germany, as throngs of Hamas supporters took to the streets, Henry Kissinger told Welt TV, “It was a grave mistake to let in so many people of totally different culture and religion and concepts because it creates a pressure group inside each country that does that.”

Americans have been shocked to see anti-Israel demonstrations in Britain, too — and to find college campuses in our country are deeply polarized by the bloodshed in the Middle East. . . . Read more about Liberals Must Choose Between Israel And Immigration

DHS Extends Temporary Protected Status, Work Authorization to 472,000 Venezuelans

Last Wednesday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas extended and “re-designated” the country of Venezuela for Temporary Protected Status (TPS). The announcement will make approximately 472,000 Venezuelans eligible for TPS benefits, including protection from deportation and work permits.

Temporary Protected Status was created in the Immigration Act of 1990.  In general, the federal government may grant TPS to nationals of a foreign state based on: (1) armed conflict; (2) environmental disaster; or (3) extraordinary and temporary conditions in their home countries.  Except for armed conflict, the statute also requires that the conditions in the foreign country be of a temporary nature. But there are even further restrictions. . . .  Read more about DHS Extends Temporary Protected Status, Work Authorization to 472,000 Venezuelans

As Biden Allows Illegals to Pour Over the Border, Homeschooling Family Faces Deportation

Last week, the Home School Legal Defense Association alerted followers that a family of homeschoolers from Germany living lawfully and peacefully in the U.S. for more than a decade are under threat of being deported back to Germany by the Biden administration despite that they will assuredly face persecution upon their return.

“A German homeschool family who thought they’d found protection in America from persecution have been told they must leave,” the HSLDA told supporters.

Homeschooling remains one of the freedom-loving options that liberals hate the most. . . . Read more about As Biden Allows Illegals to Pour Over the Border, Homeschooling Family Faces Deportation
