In a "clandestine operation," thousands of immigrants who illegally cross the U.S. southern border are being given one-year renewable permits to stay in the United States as they apply for asylum, a report said.

Team Biden is also giving the illegals Social Security cards and guiding them to a privately-run bus service which transports them around the country, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reported.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas says the U.S.–Mexico border is closed, although unaccompanied children who unlawfully cross into the United States won’t be turned back.

“We are expelling families. We are expelling single adults. And we’ve made a decision that we will not expel young, vulnerable children. I think we are executing on our plans​,” Mayorkas told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” on March 21.​

Mayorkas was then asked by Chuck Todd, the host, about whether the policy encourages parents in Mexico and other countries to send their children alone to the border.

“We have a short-term plan, a medium-term plan, and a long-term plan, and the president and I have spoken to this repeatedly. Please remember something: That ​President ​[Donald] ​Trump dismantled the orderly, humane, and efficient way of allowing children to make their claims under United States law in their home countries​,” the secretary said, without elaborating. . . Texas Governor Greg Abbott responded to what he called a “humanitarian crisis” occurring on the United States-Mexico border, assailing the Biden administration for keeping Texas state health and law enforcement officials from migrant camps playing host to thousands of unaccompanied minors, and for failing to keep the Texas state government appraised of the situation.

On Tuesday, The Daily Wire reported that the “child migrant crisis” has exploded and that the number of unaccompanied children being held at the border was 300% higher than previously known. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas seems to have learned a lesson or two from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about avoiding tough questions. All one has to do is discredit the question itself.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Sen. Josh Hawley(R-Miss.) on March 9 criticized the Biden administration in response to a report that Customs and Border Protection had shut down three highway checkpoints in Arizona.

“How much more will it take for the Biden administration to admit there is a crisis on the border?” Cruz wrote on Twitter on March 9, citing a tweet about the development in Arizona.

“The border is approaching full-blown crisis, and the Biden Admin’s response is … nothing,” Hawley wrote on Twitter on March 9.

A Customs and Border Protection spokesperson told The Epoch Times in an email on March 10 that the checkpoints closed in January “due to shifting trafficking patterns … Specifically an increase in single adults in the Tucson and Three Points stations.
