Images show men armed with rifles, body armor coming across southern border

EXCLUSIVE: Fox News has obtained images that show suspected cartel gunmen coming across the U.S. southern border in Texas toting body armor and rifles – the latest instance of armed men believed to be cartel members at the border.

Law enforcement sources tell Fox that the three men were spotted on Saturday evening by cameras in the Fronton area and were seen carrying rifles and wearing body armor as they move through the brush.

Border Patrol agents, including the agency’s BORTAC tactical unit, were deployed to the area but found nothing. It is the same area where law enforcement arrested five suspected members of the Northeast Cartel in June. . . .

Migrants Charged by Texas Police for Breaching Border Barriers

EAGLE PASS, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are now charging arrested migrants who cross the Rio Grande with criminal trespass after attempting to breach temporary border walls in the heart of downtown Eagle Pass. As Breitbart Texas watched along the Rio Grande on Friday, one group of migrants was arrested by Highway Patrol troopers from Texas and Florida after managing to move through a stretch of concertina wire.

Breitbart Texas observed the group of six migrants as they emerged from the river and were swiftly taken into custody by the troopers. The group of migrants from Honduras and Venezuela was later featured in a tweet by a Texas Highway Patrol spokesperson who says the group now faces criminal trespass charges. . . . Feds Raid Office of Texas Border Sheriff Known for Downplaying Mexican Cartel Influence

Federal authorities raided the headquarters of a Texas border sheriff’s office whose top official is widely known for claiming that the border is safe. The sheriff frequently minimizes cartel activity even though one of Mexico’s most violent criminal organizations operates in his county.

On Monday, agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations raided the Webb County Sheriff’s Office in Laredo, Texas. The Laredo Morning Times first reported on the raid. Breitbart Texas contacted an FBI spokesman who confirmed that they executed court-authorized law enforcement activities at the building but could not provide additional details. . . . Biden Admin Makes Overnight Move That Means Thursday's Border Disaster Will Be Much Worse: Report

With the clock ticking on the COVID-era policy known as Title 42, one of the few obstacles remaining to unbridled illegal immigration into the country is about to be lifted.

And instead of taking steps to control the border, the Biden administration made an overnight move that will make things even worse, Fox News’ Bill Melugin reported Tuesday. . . . Read more about Biden Admin Makes Overnight Move That Means Thursday's Border Disaster Will Be Much Worse: Report

As Title 42 Ends, DHS Plans to Accommodate Expected Surge of Illegal Immigration, Rather than Prevent It, Charges FAIR

“For months, the Biden administration has been pressed to present a plan to deal with even greater surges of illegal immigration after Title 42 is formally ended on May 11. Today, the Department of Homeland Security finally rolled out a ‘plan’ that amounts to the same failed policies that resulted in record levels of illegal immigration, only on steroids.

“Today’s announcement by the Biden administration, billed as ‘sweeping new actions to manage regional migration,’ does not even make a pretense that it is designed to prevent or deter even larger numbers of migrants from entering the country. Rather, it is a massive scheme to process migrants and disburse them around the country as quickly as possible. . . . Border sees surge in migrants ahead of Title 42 expiration

TEMPE, Ariz. (NewsNation) — Law enforcement along the southern border is dealing with a surge of migrants and bracing for more as the pandemic-era migrant expulsion program nears its end.

Title 42 is set to expire in just over two weeks, and the number of illegal crossings is already exploding.

In the Rio Grande Valley Sector, U.S. Border Patrol has reported agents in Brownsville seeing large groups, some upward of a thousand, crossing each day.

Just days ago, more than a thousand migrants stormed a vehicle checkpoint, prompting border officials to close the Gateway International Bridge for several hours. Barricades were even put up to prevent people from crossing overnight. . . . Read more about Border sees surge in migrants ahead of Title 42 expiration

Federal Inaction Provokes Strong Anti-Sanctuary Efforts In The States

The lax immigration enforcement policies promulgated by the Biden Administration continue to exacerbate the crisis at the border. However, this crisis has not been confined only to border states. Rather, the effects of human trafficking, drug smuggling, and increased crime are plaguing every state in the US.  Still reeling from the costs related to the COVID pandemic, states are now also being forced to shoulder the additional burdensome costs of illegal immigration. A recent report by FAIR found that at the beginning of 2023, the net costs to US taxpayers for illegal immigration was $150 billion, with states bearing the brunt of these costs –$115 billion. Several states, recognizing the Biden Administration’s failing immigration policies, worked with FAIR to advance anti-sanctuary legislation to enforce the rule of law, discourage illegal immigration and protect their communities from crime. . . . February Border Encounters Show Illegal Immigration Isn't Abating, It's Just Being Rerouted, Charges FAIR

The Biden administration’s new “border enforcement measures” have not succeeded in curbing record levels of illegal immigration, they’ve just rerouted much of the flow through legal ports of entry, charged the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data, released Thursday, reveals that the total number of border encounters in February, 212,266, remained at historic high levels. But due to the Biden administration’s flagrant abuse of parole authority, 83,389 illegal migrants were encountered at legal ports of entry by the Office of Field Operations (OFO), instead of attempting to enter between ports of entry. . . . DHS Proposed 153-Page Rule Change Concedes that Asylum Fraud is the Real ‘Root Cause’ of the Border Crisis

“In a remarkable admission, the Biden Department of Homeland Security concedes that the overwhelming majority of migrants pouring across our southern border are attempting to defraud our political asylum system. That crisis is about to get a whole lot worse when Title 42 is canceled, and an estimated 11,000-13,000 illegal migrants are expected to be encountered every day.

“DHS’s response is a 153-page proposed “temporary” rule change that is designed not to halt the flow of illegal migrants, but merely to create a more orderly process for people to abuse our asylum system. In other words, the real objective is not to end large-scale asylum abuse, but rather to get them through the next election cycle. . . .

Will El Chapo son's arrest slow export of drugs to US? Next steps crucial, experts say

MEXICO CITY ― The arrest of Ovidio Guzmán, the son of former Sinaloa Cartel leader Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzmán, is an important step for the Mexican government, experts say, but it will likely have little effect on the flow of illegal drugs, particularly fentanyl, across the border.

You're not going to see a big difference or a reduction in the amount of fentanyl coming to the United States. But having said all of that, it is still a very good arrest because there is no doubt that Ovidio was heavily involved in the day-to-day activities of the Sinaloa Cartel,” said former El Paso U.S. Marshal Robert Almonte. . . .
