Border Patrol agents in the Tucson Sector arrested Salvador Gutierrez-Vargas, a convicted felon who was deported in February 2021. Gutierrez was convicted of dismembering a human body and concealment of a homicidal death in Chicago, Illinois. Mexican authorities found and detained 600 migrants who were stuffed inside two tractor-trailers in human smuggling incidents attempting to reach the U.S.-Mexico border.
