Border Patrol Union Lambasts DHS for Announcing When and Where Immigration Enforcement Raid Would Take Place

Homeland Security to task for announcing the time and place of a raid to apprehend people who entered the country illegally.

EXCLUSIVE: April Migrant Apprehensions in South Texas Border Sector Double Prior Month

A source operating under the umbrella of U.S. Customs and Border Protection not authorized to speak to the media on these matters told Breitbart Texas that agents apprehended more than 37,000 migrants in April. The monthly total represents an increase of more than 100 percent from the nearly 18,000 migrants apprehended in March. It also exceeds the total apprehensions for February and March combined — just under 33,000.

The tremendous spike in migrant apprehensions in April come just ahead of the expected demise of the CDC’s Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol that allows Border Patrol agents to expel migrants for health concerns. That program will reportedly end on May 11. . . . Read more about EXCLUSIVE: April Migrant Apprehensions in South Texas Border Sector Double Prior Month

Border Patrol Chief Torches Mayorkas and Biden on the Border

At a House Homeland Security Committee hearing held in McAllen, Texas, BorderPatrol Chief Raul Ortiz contradicted claims by the White House and his direct boss, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, that we have operational control of our southern border. In response to a question posed by Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.), “Does DHS have operational control of our entire border?” Ortiz replied, “No sir.”

Operational control is a statutorily defined term meaning “the prevention of all unlawful entries into the United States, including entries by terrorists, other unlawful aliens, instruments of terrorism, narcotics and other contraband.” Not only did Ortiz concede that that is not the case, he made it clear that under the Biden administration, meeting the legal requirement of operational control is not even a goal of this administration. . . . Border sees surge in migrants ahead of Title 42 expiration

TEMPE, Ariz. (NewsNation) — Law enforcement along the southern border is dealing with a surge of migrants and bracing for more as the pandemic-era migrant expulsion program nears its end.

Title 42 is set to expire in just over two weeks, and the number of illegal crossings is already exploding.

In the Rio Grande Valley Sector, U.S. Border Patrol has reported agents in Brownsville seeing large groups, some upward of a thousand, crossing each day.

Just days ago, more than a thousand migrants stormed a vehicle checkpoint, prompting border officials to close the Gateway International Bridge for several hours. House Homeland Security Bill Would Deliver Meaningful Resources to the Border, Says FAIR

(April 24, 2023, Washington, D.C.) — On the heels of the House Judiciary Committee’s approval of a landmark bill that would deter mass illegal immigration, end asylum abuse and rein in the Biden administration’s abuse of parole authority, the House Homeland Security Committee has rolled out a bill that would deliver much needed resources to secure our southern border.

The Border Reinforcement Act adds manpower, technology and physical infrastructure needed to regain control of our borders. It would require that money dedicated to border enforcement be used for just that — not for processing, releasing and flying illegal migrants around the country, as the Biden administration has been doing. The bill also requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to collect and disseminate vital information about the people who are encountered crossing the border illegally. . . . Victory! Biden’s Catch-and-Parole Policy Vacated

WASHINGTON—Today, in a major victory, a Florida federal district court granted summary judgment to the state of Florida, vacating the Biden policy of catching and paroling illegal aliens. The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) had filed a friend-of-the-court brief in the case urging that result.

The administration claimed in this case that it has unbounded discretion about whether to detain and deport illegal aliens, and so its policy of simply not enforcing the law cannot be reviewed by a court. In its brief, IRLI showed that, in fact, Congress very clearly and sharply limited the administration’s discretion when it mandated that illegal aliens be detained and removed from the country. . . .

FAIR Podcast: CBP One – A Mobile App to Facilitate Illegality

In FAIR’s latest podcast, FAIR President Dan Stein and Former Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Mark Morgan discuss the CBP One mobile app and the Biden Administration’s open-border policies that have led to migrant surges at the Southern border.

The CBP One app has become the latest controversy surrounding President Biden’s failure to control the border.  But what is this app?  In a fact sheet, DHS says, “The free CBP One™ mobile application enables noncitizens without appropriate documents for admission who seek to travel to the United States through certain southwest border land ports of entry (POEs) the ability to submit information through a module within the application instead of coming directly to wait at a POE.”

In other words, the Biden Administration has created an application in a desperate attempt to avoid the bad optics of huge caravans of illegal aliens storming the border and overwhelming the Border Patrol. . . . Read more about FAIR Podcast: CBP One – A Mobile App to Facilitate Illegality
