Washington man caught traveling with more than 4 pounds of crystal meth near Hood River
A Washington man faces drug charges after state police found more than four pounds of crystal methamphetamine in his SUV during a traffic stop near Hood River.
Omar Huerta-Garcia, 29, of Pasco, Wash., was stopped in his 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada at 3:05 p.m. last Thursday for a traffic violation on Interstate 84 near milepost 62, police said.
A police dog discovered 4.4 pounds of the drugs hidden in the SUV and Huerta-Garcia was arrested. Police said the drugs are valued at $65,000.
Huerta-Garcia was booked into the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility on unlawful possession and delivery of meth charges.
