Ask the tough questions, ask Rep. Bonamici where she stands on immigration issues

Alert date:

Alert body:

Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici claims that getting Americans back to work and rebuilding the economy is her number one goal. But, why has she refused to co-sponsor the Legal Workforce Act or any other E-Verify bills? This bill would mandate E-Verify nationwide, opening up to 7 million jobs for Americans and legal workers.

In fact, this bill would would put more Americans back to work than any other policy being discussed in Congress today. Check out the chart. Show it to Rep. Bonamici.

If you look at Rep. Bonamici's grade card, Rep. Bonamici has voted for amnesty twice! Why is Rep. Bonamici for policies that will further increase competition in an already over-crowded job market? 20 million Americans cannot find full time work, they certainly do not need to have illegal aliens to compete with too!

There is still time for Rep. Bonamici to do the right thing this congress. Co-sponsoring the Legal Workforce Act is a big one. There are two bills introduced by fellow House Democrats that Rep. Bonamici could co-sponsor. She can also challenge the leadership of both parties who want to give out even more work permits than we already do each year.

Rep. Bonamici will be hosting town hall meetings around her district the next several days.

We are asking you to participate in the town hall and ask Rep. Bonamici about her immigration record.

Some talking points:

Congresswoman Bonamici, there are 20 million Americans who cannot find full time work while millions of illegal aliens are working in non-agricultural jobs. This isn't fair to American workers! Fellow House Democrat Rep. DeFazio has sponsored an E-Verify bill, please co-sponsor his bill and prove to me your number one priority is getting Oregonians back to work!

Rep. Bonamici, Washington gives out over 1 million work permits every year for new immigrants. With millions of Americans and recent immigrants already unemployed, why are we bringing one million more workers here every year? Do you support lowering this number?

If you cannot attend an event, drop off Rep. Bonamici's grade card at her local offices or give her a call.
